The Max Planck Society has initiated a number of measures to attract increasing numbers of women to a career in science and provide them with equal opportunities for all stages of their career. An important initiative is the Lise Meitner Excellence Program. The position as a Lise Meitner Group Leader will be advertised to recruit and promote exceptionally qualified female scientists. There is a multi-stage, competitive selection process, held in close consultation with interested Max Planck Institutes. The Lise Meitner Groups are furnished with their own resources for their entire duration.

CfP “Demographic Perspectives on Migration in the 21st Century”

Wittgenstein Centre Conference on “Demographic Perspectives on Migration in the 21st Century” will take place from 19th – 21st November 2025 in Vienna, Austria.

Research from various disciplines, including demography, economics, sociology, geography, and environmental sciences welcome.

Submissions should focus on current and forward-looking analyses, methodological innovations and modelling of migration as well as comparative research investigating the demographic outcomes of migrants in both origin and destination societies.

Beiträge für das geplante CPoS Themenheft “Migration Trajectories Across the Life Course” können noch bis zum 15. Mai eingereicht werden. Die Gastherausgeber des Heftes sind: Sergi Vidal (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Aude Bernard (University of Queensland) und Riccardo Valente (Autonomous University of Barcelona). Initiiert wurde das Themenheft durch das IUSSP Panel Lifetime Migration.

FReDA-Call für offene Module

Das FReDA-Team weist auf die Möglichkeit hin, eigene Forschungsinhalte in das FReDA-Panel einfließen zu lassen. Für die Befragungswelle W6B im Herbst 2026 haben wir insgesamt drei Minuten Befragungszeit vorgesehen. Der Fragebogen ist für standardisierte, quantitativ orientierte Fragestellungen konzipiert.
